Terrorist Receives Life Sentence for Plot to Blow Up U.S. Embassies

Mohammed Mansour Jabarah was sentenced to life in prison on Friday for his involvement in a plot to blow up U.S. embassies in Singapore and the Philippines.

Jabarah had pled guilty to the charges in 2002 but had reached plea bargain agreement that involved him acting as an informant against al-Qaeda and its top leaders. That plea agreement ended shortly after it was made when FBI agents discovered several documents in Jabarah’s residence that indicated he was still plotting an attack.

On Friday a federal judge in Manhattan ruled that Jabarah had continued his involvement with terrorist activities after the plea agreement and imposed the life sentence.
