Fugitive Marine Caught on Video

Cesar Laurean, the suspected murderer of the missing marine, Maria Lauterbach, was caught on a surveillance video last month buying supplies that police believe were used to cover up his murder.

The video was recorded on December 16, two days after authorities believe Lauterbach died says Rick Sutherland, spokesman for the Onslow County Sheriff.

The CNN show America’s Most Wanted aired the video during last night’s episode, Anderson Cooper 360.

Laurean is seen in the video with another person, who was described by America’s Most Wanted as “a friend.”  Investigators have no comment on the “friend.”  At the store Laurean was recorded buying supplies such as concrete blocks, paint and a wheelbarrow.

Police affidavits report that Laurean told his wife, Christina Laurean, that he buried the deceased Lauterbach after she committed suicide by slitting her throat.  According to the affidavit, Laurean was scared and buried her body in the backyard fire pit.

An autopsy performed on Maria Lauterbach shows that her cause of death was blunt trauma to the head.

Christina Laurean was recently seen by neighbors painting the inside of her house.

Police have revealed to CNN that she is a cooperating witness to the crime.

Police have also released another surveillance video of Laurean withdrawing money out of Lautherbach’s account from an ATM on December 24.  There was an attempt by Laurean to cover the lens with a rag.
