An inquiry revealed that
the crash landing of the British Airways was caused by a power failure on
Thursday. Both engines of the jumbo jet
were said to have failed to give more power resulting in the plane’s crashing
according to British investigators on Friday.
Perhaps the question now is, what caused the power failure?
The Air Accidents
Investigation Branch reports that a “significant amount of fuel” leaked after
the crash although it was not clear if the fuel was flowing to the engines like
it should have. Experts will investigate
if there was something wrong with the fuel itself next, as well as the computer
system from which the machine relies heavily on.
The Boeing 777 is damaged
beyond repair.
12 passengers on the plane suffered
minor injuries, only one was seriously harmed.
British Airways passengers
say that had no idea of the emergency until after it happened. One passenger, Jerome Ensicnk, said, “It was
a very quiet, normal flight. I didn’t have
the feeling we had crashed until we left the plane. When you look at the plane you realize it
could have been way, way worse.
