Man Captured Near the Capitol Carrying Sword and Shotgun

Michael Steven Gorbey was arrested one block away from the US Capitol on Friday carrying a sword and a shotgun.  There were no injuries or not shots fired according to police.

The 38 year old Gorbey with a long criminal record, is facing a possession of a firearm charge with other charges pending.

US Capital Police Spokeswoman St. Kimberly Schneider said “The officers were able to apprehend him quite easily.”

Officials did not say Gorbey’s reason for being at the capital armed.
