John McCain concentrated his efforts on South Carolina and on Saturday it paid off as the Arizona senator finished atop the list of Republican presidential candidates in the state’s primary.
McCain finished four percent higher than second place Mike Huckabee in the key battle state while Mitt Romney, winner of Nevada’s caucuses earlier in eth day finished a distant fourth.
Rudy Giuliani continued to see low support at the polls as the former New York governor garnered just two percent on Saturday.
