Man Wielding Sword Shot and Killed by Utah Police

A man who allegedly lunged at a South Salt Lake, Utah police officer and hit him on the arm with a sword was shot and killed by the officer’s partner on Monday.

According to reports, the man had barricaded himself inside his apartment and began throwing several items out a window. The man made a quick appearance outside but returned to his apartment and police followed him inside.

The man then swung the sword at one of the officers, striking him in the arm. As the officer was struck the other officer shot and killed the man.
