Narconon Attends Youth Violence Program

Speaks at Morehouse College Event

Narconon of Georgia attended an Outreach Program which focused on solutions for local youth violence, sponsored by the Morehouse School of Medicine.

The event, held at the Adamsville Recreational Community Center, was attended by hundreds of community leaders including law enforcement, educators and ministers. Narconon of Georgia, which is a non-12 step drug rehab program, presented educational displays demonstrating statistically how drug abuse at a young age will inevitably lead to crime, violence, and moral decay. Plans were discussed on how drug education and participation in communities was vital to help in arresting this problem.

“Even though we deal with recovering drug addicts in our drug recovery program, I would prefer that the drug addicts never became addicts in the first place,” commented Mary Rieser, Executive Director for Narconon of Georgia. “The only way we can do this is by effective drug education and caring.”

Narconon of Georgia provides effective drug treatment and is also actively involved in community programs that stress responsibility, self-worth, and drug-free lives.

Geno Lewis, Community Relations for Narconon of Georgia, stated, “Narconon is very much involved with the Boys and Girls Clubs and other local organizations teaching drug awareness and drug prevention. We have been praised by local law enforcement officials in the fact that after we have delivered our drug education seminars in an area the violence rate drops, coincidental with our workshops.”

Narconon of Georgia is a non-traditional drug abuse treatment program. Its mission also includes drug education and working with children.  While many drug rehab statistics are nebulous, Narconon boasts a 76% success rate (based on a two year follow-up) through a non-12 step drug treatment program.  This program provides body detoxification through a sauna and exercise program that helps eliminate or reduce cravings. After the sauna program, the client learns those life skills essential to success in life and the ability to stay clean.  They graduate from Narconon with a life plan and continued support to make sure they make it in life.
