Bercovici lived nearly a block away from the lake and sources say she loved to jog there. Her body was transported to the Stein Institute where she was pronounced dead at 5:50 p.m.
Police have not ruled out suicide or murder. “It is a death investigation at this time,” said a police spokesman.
An autopsy was scheduled for Sunday and according to reports, points towards drowning as the cause of death. The lake temperature on Saturday was 33 degrees.
