Narconon of Georgia drug rehab facility staff members participated in the Open House Ceremony for the KIYA House, (Knowledge Invested in Youth Achievement) on the dangers of drug abuse.
During the event at KIYA, which is a program that deals with emotionally disturbed children in Atlanta, Georgia, Narconon representatives Geno Lewis and Sunshine Lewis talked to the children about the realities of drug abuse and how to live a happy and successful life without using drugs.
Ms. Lewis, Community Services Director for the drug rehab, stated: “It is all too common that emotionally disturbed children grow up using drugs to avoid the pain of facing their lives. They can’t grow up thinking that drugs are an easy outlet because drugs only cause them to escape life and sink even deeper. We must teach our children to grow up to be responsible productive adults that don’t turn to drugs to escape their past.”
The Narconon drug rehab program teaches recovering addicts responsibility for their actions, along with the fact that we always have a choice in our lives to do the right thing. Geno Lewis, Community Relations for Narconon of Georgia, agrees: “We can’t let our past circumstances force us to act unethically in the future. Drugs only cause heartbreak, misery and death, and any drug rehab program needs to emphasize this.”
The lectures were well received by staff and guests who thanked the representatives for the information.
