MLB Schedule Thursday May 6: Red Sox Shooting for Sweep of Angels, Halladay on the Hill for Phillies Game against Cardinals
The Philadelphia Phillies will be sending their ace Roy Halladay to the hill Thursday afternoon as they wrap up their four-game series with the St. Louis Cardinals. Philly has taken two of three and are back atop the NL East, 1 ½ games ahead of the NY Mets. Despite dropping their last two games the Cardinals still hold a 4 game lead in the NL Central and remain the only team in their division with a winning record.
Fans in Boston will be hoping for a four game sweep on Thursday as the Red Sox host the Los Angeles Angels. Boston bounced back from an ugly series against the Orioles and have won three straight and are looking to Daisuke Matsuzaka for number four. LA has tumbled hard having dropped six straight but despite their 12-17 record they are just 3 games back of Oakland in the AL West.
Still the best team in baseball, the Tampa Bay Rays will be gunning for a sweep of the Seattle Mariners on Thursday. Tampa has a one game lead over the NY Yankees in the AL East while the Mariners continue to sink, having lost five straight.
