Randy Salerno, News Anchor on WBBM Channel 2 in Chicago, Killed in Snowmobile Accident

Randy Salerno, a popular morning news anchor on WBBM Channel 2 in Chicago, Illinois, was killed Thursday night after a snowmobile accident in Wisconsin.

The 45-year-old Salerno had been snowmobiling with friends near Eagle River, Wisconsin when his snowmobile broke down. Salerno then called for a friend to pick him up. Salerno was then riding on the back of his friend’s snowmobile when the vehicle went of path and struck several trees.

Police have indicated that alcohol and speed may have played a role in the accident that killed the husband and father of three.
