Madeleine McCann Case Turns into Bidding War between Oprah Winfrey and Barbara Walters

The case of missing four-year-old Madeleine McCann has turned into a bidding war between media heavyweights Oprah Winfrey and Barbara Walters as the two try to gain an exclusive interview with the parents of the young British girl.

Madeleine McCann disappeared from a resort apartment while her family was vacationing in Portugal last May. Since that time there have been very few leads in the case and police have named only three suspects, two of whom are the parents.

Kate and Gerry McCann have insisted they had nothing to do with their daughter’s disappearance. The two had been dining with friends on the night of Madeleine’s abduction.

According to the Daily Mail an exclusive interview with Oprah Winfrey would pay the McCann’s close to $2 million. While the deal has not been closed, the parent’s have already said any money would go to helping find Madeleine. It is unclear what an interview with Walters would pay.
