Spy Satellite Expected to Hit Earth, No Idea Where it will Crash

A U.S. spy satellite that has lost power could hit the Earth late next month or early March and officials are uncertain where it could crash.

The 20,000 pound satellite was likely used for photo reconnaissance missions in which information was gathered to keep track of possible terrorist activities. Government officials have remained silent about the nature of the satellite, calling the information classified.

While information about the satellite’s potential contents remains a mystery Gordon Johndroe, a spokesman for the National Security Council, was quoted as saying “Appropriate government agencies are monitoring the situation.”

Johndroe went on to say “Numerous satellites over the years have come out of orbit and fallen harmlessly. We are looking at potential options to mitigate any possible damage this satellite may cause.”
