NHL Playoffs Schedule Saturday May 8: Sidney Crosby Leads Pittsburgh Penguins into Game 5 against Montreal Canadiens, San Jose Sharks Look to Close Out Detroit Red Wings

The NHL playoffs schedule for Saturday features a pair of games that both carry a ton of weight as the balance of the Eastern Conference showdown between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens is at stake while in the Western Conference the San Jose Sharks are one step away from eliminating the Detroit Red Wings.

Montreal bounced back from a pair of loses to Pittsburgh by taking Game 4 of the series on their home ice to even the series at 2-2 but now the Penguins have home ice and will look to grab a 3-2 advantage on Saturday. Sidney Crosby can take over any time he’s on the ice but Jaroslav Halak has had an incredible playoffs in goal and nothing has been easy for Pittsburgh.

The Detroit Red Wings managed to avoid a sweep in Game 4, crushing the San Jose Sharks but with the series shifting back to California the outcome could be a bit different on Saturday. Detroit has taken some tough loses in the series and still has plenty of talent but it finally looks like the Sharks are living up to their potential and appear determined to capture their first Stanley Cup trophy.
