“Duffle Bag Boy," the debut single by Disturbing Tha Peace/Def Jam Recordings duo Playaz Circle (Atlanta-based Tity Boi and Dolla), featuring New Orleans rapper Lil’ Wayne has been certified platinum, officially selling over 1 million ringtones.
The Playaz Circle debut album, SUPPLY AND DEMAND, was officially released on October 30th and executive produced by DTP partners Ludacris, Chaka Zulu, and Jeff Dixon. S&D is a mixtape producers showcase, with every track by a different producer. In addition to M-16, who produced “Duffle Bag Boy,” other producers include: Knoxville (“Dear Mr. LA Reid,” which samples “A Woman Needs A Good Man” by The Three Degrees); B-Crucial and Tony Dinero (“#1 Trap Pick”); Wonder Arillo (“Betta Knock” featuring Ludacris); Mr. Porter (“Paper Chaser”); Drumma Boy (“We Workin’”); Buckwild (“U Can Believe It” featuring Ludacris); Midnight Black (“Paint Still Wet”); Big D (“Outlaw”); J-Rock (“Gucci Bag” featuring Shawnna); and Streetrunner (“Let Me Fly”). “Duffle Bag Boy” began to catch on at Urban markets in late-summer.
The “Duffle Bag Boy” video, directed by Chaka Zulu, gained heavy rotation on rotation on MTV and BET .
Dolla and Tity Boi started freestyling on the streets, where they picked up the moniker, the Duffle Bag Boys. The well-seasoned duo named themselves Playaz Circle – the first word is an acronym for: Preparing Legal Assets for Years from A-Z. Their rhymes showed up on three tracks on the second DTP sampler, issued in 2005: “Two Miles An Hour (Mix),” “That’s My Sh*t,” and “You Ain’t Got Enough.” With the release of SUPPLY AND DEMAND, Tity Boi and Dolla are making up for lost time. It’s goin’ be on, too. Album in stores now, Playaz Circle's next single off the album is "Paperchase".
