One Dead After San Francisco Building Collapse

One worker is dead at a San Francisco building collapsed this afternoon. Construction workers were attempting to detach a four-story high boiler from the Pacific Gas and Electric power plant when part of the old building collapsed.

Three workers were trapped under the rubble. One of them died while one was taken to a nearby hospital with life threatening injuries. The third worker was still pinned under the metal. The extent of his injuries is unclear.

 

Officials are working to ensure the rest of the building is safe.
