Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) has announced her endorsement of Sen. Hillary Clinton for President of the United States.
The announcement came via a conference call with reporters Tuesday.
"Hillary Clinton is a no-nonsense, articulate and experienced public-policy maker," said Waters. "I believe Hillary Clinton has the knowledge and experience to understand not only the needs of my constituents, but all constituents."
"Our party must be led by somebody who is capable of carrying out the dreams and aspirations of all Americans," continued Waters.
Waters is one of Congress' most vocal African-American leaders. She is one of the most influential members of the Congressional Black Caucus.
Waters represents the 35th District of California, which encompasses South Central Los Angeles, the communities of Westchester and Playa Del Rey as well as the cities of Gardena, Hawthorne, Inglewood and Lawndale.
