Freedom Communications has announced the appointment of Julie Moreno as the North Carolina Region Vice President. Ms. Moreno has also been named as the publisher of The Gazette in Gaston, NC. The appointment will be made effective on June 30. She is succeeding Jennie Lambert. Lambert will be retiring after serving Freedom Communications for 34 years.

Jennie Lambert started at Freedom as a reporter for The Gazette. She later served as a managing editor, then editor. During her time as an editor, the supervised The Gazette’s award winning coverage on police abuse towards Gastonia homes and Hurricane Hugo’s devastation.
