BP plc (ADR) (NYSE:BP) jumped 0.50% to $49.25 after it said Monday that the Gulf of Mexico oil spill has cost the company $350 million so far in immediate response, containment and other efforts.

 

Motorola, Inc. (NYSE:MOT) surged 4.15% after Carl Icahn has increased his stake in Motorola to 8.75%, above the 5.15% stake reported at the end of 2009.

McDonald's Corporation (NYSE:MCD) surged 3.10% to $70.12 after reported a 4.9 percent rise in April sales at established restaurants as the pace of sales in the United States and Europe, its largest markets, slowed from March.

 

Dean Foods Company (NYSE:DF) plunged 21.33% to $11.51 after posted a softer first-quarter profit and suspended its full-year outlook on Monday due to weakness in its dairy business.

 

The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA) surged 6.26% to $70.90 after Goldman Sachs upgraded the company’s stock to conviction buy from neutral and raised the price target by $8 to $90.

 

American International Group, Inc. (NYSE:AIG) jumped 6% to $41. On Friday, The company reported a first-quarter profit to the company of $1.5 billion, or $2.16 per share, compared with a loss to the company of $4.4 billion, or $39.67 a share, a year earlier.
