Rebecca Dawn Bogard, a teacher in Biloxi, MS, admitted to police she had sexual relations with the 15-year-old, according to court documents Wednesday. Bogard referred to the teenager as her "little sex fiend".
Bogard was charged with sexual battery of a teenage male student Jan. 18, and released on $50,000 bond. She was suspended by the Biloxi School District with pay Jan. 23.
Bogard waived her right to a preliminary hearing where underlying facts of the case are made public.
The legal age of consent for sex in Mississippi is 16, or 18 if the other person is in a position of authority or trust. A school teacher is in a position of authority or trust, according to state law. Sexual battery is punishable by up to 30 years in prison.
The juvenile's mother found sexually explicit text messages from "Dawn."
The mother also learned her son had lost his job at a sandwich shop for taking extended breaks with a woman fitting Bogard's description who was driving a car that fit the description of Bogard's Jaguar, which has the vanity license plate "GRRRRR."
According to the mother, additional text messages from Bogard's cell phone indicated she wanted to meet with the juvenile and follow-up texts indicated the two had had sex.
According to court documents, Bogard admitted to having sex at least three times with the students, all of which were in Bogard's car.
