Sports and Romance Have Finally Found A Match!

Romance novel appeals to fighters

What do you call it when you mix the testosterone-building sport of ultimate fighting with the estrogen of romance novels? Hard to Handle, a novel by bestselling author Lori Foster!

The newest novel by Foster is one in a series that uses mixed martial arts fighting as the theme.  And the professional fighting community has embraced the novels with the book appearing during a new reality show about mixed martial arts fighters!  You can check out the new show starting Feb. 9th at 11PM on KDOC in Los Angeles; channel 56 on Direct TV; channel 12 on Time Warner; or online at www.proelite.com.

How does fighting and sweat mix with love and romance? In a fun and sexy way!  Even the description on the author’s site (www.lorifoster.com) is fun and a bit risqué –

After Fate deals Supreme Battle Challenge (SBC) fighter Harley Handleman a sucker punch, his uncle secretly hires a pretty life-coach to get Harley back in the ring of life. Anastasia Kelley has actually known Harley for years, but never as well as she's going to now. Hot for his fighter's form, she has trouble keeping it professional, especially since Harley doesn't know she was hired. And when Anastasia turns the tables on him, it's as if he's been hit below the belt. But that's also where his uncontrollable lust for her burns.

Lori Foster has attended many matches, meeting a lot of real life Ultimate Fighters such as Frank Trigg, Wanderlei and Matt Hamill.  The author tries to stay true to the sport while weaving a tale of mystery, drama, comedy and romance.  Her hard work and respect for the sport has earned her honorable mentions in magazines of the sport. And her novel Simon Says named “MMA Worldwide Book of the Year!”

And do the women love these stories of sports fighting? Yes!  Foster’s previous book in the series was an Amazon’s Top Ten Editor’s Pick and went on to be a great success in the romance genre.

Hard to Handle will be released February 5th, 2008 in bookstores everywhere.  For those men who love this sport, the book is a great way to share that excitement with your Valentine! Who says you can’t be a lover AND a fighter?
