Narconon Teaches Recovering Addicts Study Skills

Drug Rehab Demonstrates Ways to Teach Addicts How to Learn

The Narconon Drug Rehab Program takes into account the fact that most drug addicts have had challenges in school, which resulted in poor school work, which then resulted in increased drug use, to the point the person becomes drug addicted because there is no future hope. One who cannot study cannot hope to live a successful life, as one has to keep learning all the time in order to keep up with the competitive environment one lives in.

The way to become a competent and productive member of society is to learn how to study.

Therefore, after completing the Narconon New Life Detoxification Program, which Narconon Drug Rehab clients have reported helps reduce or eliminate drug cravings, the first Life Skill they learn is the Narconon Learning Improvement Course.

The Learning Improvement course teaches the recovering drug addict that knowledge is not something to be memorized, but used and applied in life. Rather than the recovering addict studying so that they can pass a test, the main emphasis is put on the application of knowledge to life. With this emphasis, anyone can get much more out of what they study and are able to put the material to actual use.

In this course, recovering addicts learn of the many barriers that face students who want to study, the first being the idea that they “know it all already.” The idea that one “knows it all” makes one less willing to study. Opening the door to knowledge requires the realization that there is something to learn – and this is accomplished on this course, before the student progresses to actual study skills.

Once the student is willing to learn, the course progresses onto basic study skills that increase the ability to study, retain knowledge, recognize and overcome barriers to study and learning.

Each recovering drug addict practices skills learned on the study course and continue to practice every skill they learn on the Narconon program. For example, on the Communication Course, a student not only learns the theory behind communication, but they practice communication skills until they master them.

This is true of every step on the program, which includes practical application as regards personal integrity and ethics.

By applying the data in this course, the student can move quickly through the Narconon program and become much more successful in life!
