Step 2 Recalls 2.5 Million Ride On Toys

Step 2 Co. has issued a recall for 2.5 million ride-on toys. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced that the Push Around and Whisper Ride models pose a serious risk to children as the buggy’s handle can detach.

“In very rare incidents, the handles of some of the buggies, when subjected to wear and tear, have detached from the buggy during use,” Step 2 announced.

The company has received 28 reports of the buggy’s handle detaching and 26 reports of injuries. The affected toys were sold between August 1999 and March 2010. Consumers can contact Step 2 for a free repair kit.
