The investigation into the disappearance of Natalee Holloway has been reopened due to new evidence provided by Dutch crime reporter Peter R. de Vries. Aruban Prosecutors say Vries has a secretly taped “confession” from suspect Joran van der Sloot
“The recordings made available to the Public Prosecutor have given the Public Prosecutor a reason to reopen the investigation,” said the prosecutor’s office. “This information may shed new light on the mode of which Natalee Holloway has died and the method by which her body disappeared.”
Holloway, 18, disappeared in May 2005 during a trip to Aruba with her classmates. Joran van der Sloot and brothers Deepak and Satish Kalpoe have previously been arrested in Holloway’s case but were released due to insufficient evidence. They are believed to be the last people to see the Alabama teen alive. The trio denies having any involvement in her disappearance or death.
