Bomb Explodes Outside Maximum Security Prison Near Greek Capital of Athens

A bomb has exploded outside a maximum security prison near Greece’s capital city of Athens, causing police to seal the area as they launch an investigation into the explosion.

There have been no claims of responsibility for the blast in Korydallos but a warning had been phoned in to an Athens newspaper prior to the bombing. While the person who delivered the warning did not identify themselves suspicion has already focused on left-wing militants lashing out over the recent austerity measures passed by the government.

No reports of injuries or death have been reported from Thursday’s attack but officials have not released many details concerning the bombing.
