Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Headline Super Bowl XLII Halftime Show

Rock Legends Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers will be headlining the halftime show at Super Bowl XLII on Sunday. Petty won’t be the only high-profile musical guest to entertain the Arizona crowd as nine-time Grammy award winner Alicia Keys provides the pre-game festivities and last year’s American Idol winner Jordin Sparks will sing the national anthem.

Petty joins a long list of highly accomplished artists who have taken the stage at halftime of the NFL’s biggest game. Among those who have been featured at halftime of the Super Bowl are Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, the Rolling Stones, Prince and Janet Jackson.

An estimated 140 million viewers from 230 countries are expected to tune in to Super Bowl XLII.
