NHL Playoffs Schedule Friday May 14: Philadelphia Flyers and Boston Bruins Battle in Game 7 for Right to Face Montreal Canadiens

The NHL playoffs schedule for Friday could produce history as the Philadelphia Flyers hit the road to take on the Boston Bruins in Game 7 of their best-of seven series.

Boston jumped to a 3-0 series lead with a pair of one-goal wins at home and a 4-1 pounding in Philly but the Flyers bounced back in Game 4 and staved off elimination with a 5-4 overtime victory. The Bruins had a shot at wrapping up the series back in Boston but the Flyers came to play and put together a 4-0 victory to get the series to 3-2. In Game 6 the Flyers were back home and caught the Bruins for the third straight time with a 2-1 victory to even the series at 3-3.

Philly will try to complete the improbable comeback on Friday as they skate on Boston’s ice but the Bruins will certainly be looking to avoid an historical meltdown, something only the 1942 Detroit Red Wings and the 1975 Pittsburgh Penguins have suffered, a best-of-seven series loss after being up 3-0.

The winner of Friday night’s Game 7 showdown will go on to face the Montreal Canadiens in the Eastern Conference Finals. Montreal stunned the Pittsburgh Penguins to punch their ticket after upsetting the Washington Capitals in the opening round.
