Narconon Drug Rehab in Call to Action Forum

Elected Officials Thankful of Narconon Drug Education Help

Narconon of Georgia attended a Community Call to Action Forum sponsored by Dekalb County Commissioner Larry Johnson. The Forum focused on how we as a community can address issues such as drugs, crime and teen violence.

Ms. Sunshine Lewis, Community Affairs relations for Narconon Drug Rehab, spoke to elected officials on how Narconon can assist in community drug education and drug rehabilitation projects as part of the effort to generate more involvement from the community.

“I spoke with many Honorable Elected Officials in attendance and was thanked for the work we do in our community,” Ms. Lewis stated. “Officials from Dekalb County, Police Chiefs from other counties, and District Attorneys were all thankful for the drug education efforts we have provided in their area. They have all noticed a decrease in crime rates and drug-related incidents in their communities since we started drug education.  School Board members also thanked us for providing effective drug education, which means our children will have a chance to grow up as drug-free, productive adults, and wishes us to continue our efforts. The new interim chief of Grady Hospital also thanked us for pitching in to help the community.”

Mary Rieser, Executive Director for Narconon of Georgia Drug Rehab, commented, “Even though we deal with recovering drug addicts in our drug recovery program, I would prefer that the drug addicts never became addicts in the first place. The only way we can do this is by effective drug education and caring.”
