In New York Republican voters are much more focused on the bread and butter issues of the war and the economy than Republican voters in other states are. That’s a good thing for John McCain, who often trails among poll respondents most concerned about immigration or moral and family values. He leads 56-19 among voters who listed the war as their top issue and 56-18 with voters who said their biggest thing was the economy.
