Lowe's Companies, Inc. (NYSE:LOW) fell 4.80% to $24.82 after it said Monday that its fiscal first-quarter profit rose 2.47%, helped by a rebound in consumer demand, government stimulus programs and favorable weather. However, the home-improvement retailer issued disappointing guidance, sending its shares lower in pre-market trading. Net income totaled $489 million, or 34 cents a share, from $476 million, or 32 cents a share, in the prior-year quarter. Revenue grew 4.7% to $12.4 billion. Analysts, on average, expected the company to report earnings of 30 cents per share on revenue of $12.20 billion.

Perfect World Co., Ltd. (ADR) (NASDAQ:PWRD) plunged 16% to $27.66 after it reported Monday that its first-quarter net income jumped 41.6% to RMB 305.16 million or $ 44.7 million from RMB 215.45 million last year. On a per American Depository Share basis, net earnings totaled RMB 5.75 or 84 cents, up from RMB 3.96 in the year-earlier quarter. On an adjusted basis, the company earned RMB 326.96 million or $47.90 million.

RINO International Corporation (NASDAQ:RINO) lost 7.70% to $14.25 after it said that its first-quarter net income rose to $18.7 million or 65 cents per share, from $12.5 million, or 50 cents per share, in the year-earlier period. Adjusted net income fell to to $8.5 million, or 30 cents per share, from $12.5 million, or 50 cents per share, in the comparable period last year. Revenue increased to $47.9 million from $35.6 million in the comparable period. Analysts, on average, expected the company to report earnings of 46 cents per share on revenue of $47.90 million.
