Member of SWAT Team Killed as Los Angeles Standoff Continues

A member of a SWAT team has been killed and another shot as a standoff at a Los Angeles house continued into Thursday morning.

The standoff began around 9:00 p.m. Wednesday night after a man called police and reported that he had killed three relatives inside the home. Two officers entered the house but were shot by the man who had barricaded himself in the residence.

Members of the SWAT team managed to enter the house and retrieve the fallen officers who were then transported to Northridge Medical Center. Shortly after 1:00 a.m. one officer had been pronounced dead.
