Stock Update : Homebuilder Stock Surge (BZH, HOV, LEN, DHI, TOL)

The Commerce Department said Tuesday that construction of new homes and apartments rose 5.8 percent last month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 672,000. The increase was from an upwardly revised March level of 635,000.

Beazer Homes USA, Inc. (NYSE:BZH) soared 10.31% to $5.78. Citigroup analysts are upgrading Beazer Homes (NYSE:BZH) to buy from hold, with a $7 price target, based on valuation.

Hovnanian Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE:HOV) surged over 3.82% to $6.70.

Lennar Corporation (NYSE:LEN) rose 1.25% to $18.65.

D.R. Horton, Inc. (NYSE:DHI) climbed 1.35% to $13.48.

Toll Brothers, Inc. (NYSE:TOL) gained 2.92% to $21.49.
