Tiger Woods to Play in British Open

Golf Champ Commits to Upcoming Tournament

According to a report from ESPN.com, Tiger Woods will be playing in the British Open, even though he is currently suffering from a neck injury. The tournament will be held from July 15 to July 18, and if Woods does indeed compete there, he may be able to become the first player in 150 years to win three times at St. Andrews, one of the nine links courses at which the Open is held each year. Woods is suffering from an inflamed neck joint which causes pain, creates headaches, and makes it hard for Woods to turn his head. But Woods has already signed up for the event, according to Golf Digest, and he has already added the Open to the schedule on his website as well. With three British Open victories already under his belt (2000, 2005, and 2006), Woods may be on his way to winning his fourth overall Open title and his third St. Andrews Open title.
