Ohio Teacher Shot By Husband in Portsmouth Elementary School

A teacher at a private Catholic school in Portsmouth, Ohio was shot and stabbed in her classroom while her students watched. Police say her husband is responsible for the attack. He escaped the elementary school. No children were harmed in the shooting. The teacher is in critical condition.

Authorities believe the man ran to a nearby home. SWAT teams surrounded the house and neighbors said they heard shots fired at the home.

 

Parents of the students at Notre Dame Elementary School were allowed to get their children around 10:30 a.m. Nearby schools were put on lockdown.

 

The shooter has not been apprehended.
