A small earthquake struck Southern California Tuesday evening.
The U.S. Geological Survey initially reported a 5.1 magnitude temblor, but later downgraded
it to a 4.5 magnitude.
Susan Potter of the USGS said the quake is “within the
aftershock zone” of the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that struck near Mexicali on
April 4.
Tuesday’s earthquake struck at 6.3 miles deep and was located
near El Centro and Mexicali.
