Baby Kyson Stowell Survives Being Sucked Up By Tornado

An 11-month-old baby identified as Kyson Stowell was found alive after being thrown the length of a football field after being sucked up by a deadly tornado that ripped through Tennessee.

The baby’s mother, Keri Stowell, did not survive the storm. The 23-year-old’s body was found near the Lafayette post office.

Kyson was found laying face down in the mud nearly 300 feet from where his home once stood. Fire fighter David Harmon found Kyson and said at first he thought he was a doll. “As soon as I saw his little butt cheeks move I hollered, ‘It’s not a baby doll. It’s alive!’” said Harmon.

Paramedic John Poss checked for injuries but found none. “I touched every part of the baby, thinking he was hurt,” said Poss. Kyson was taken to the Monroe Carell Jr Children’s Hospital in Nashville where he was treated for minor facial bruising.

As many as 69 tornados ripped through the South this week killing at least 55 people and injured 150.
