Yahoo Inc. (Nasdaq: YHOO) will not sell to software giant Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT) at least not just yet.
Board members of Yahoo rejected the $44.6 billion offered by Microsoft noting the bid was insufficient. Yahoo is believed to want about $40 per share while the Microsoft offer was about $31 per share.
Microsoft is expected to bump their offer another $5 billion but Yahoo may still fear that regulators wouldn’t allow the sale to go through. Rumors have already surfaced that they may be turning to AOL as a merger partner.
