KongZhong Corporation (ADR) (NASDAQ:KONG) fell 3.50% to $6.40 after it beats by $0.03, beats on revs, guides Q2 revs below consensus Reports Q1 (Mar) GAAP earnings of $0.09 per share, $0.03 better than the Thomson Reuters consensus of $0.06; revenues rose 37.3% year/year to $40.6 mln vs the $38 mln consensus.
Hot Topic, Inc. (NASDAQ:HOTT) fell 11% to $5.79 after it said Wednesday that it swung to a first-quarter loss of $1.8 million, or 4 cents a share, compared with a profit of $1.2 million, or 3 cents a share, in the prior-year quarter. Quarterly revenue dropped to $162.6 million from $175.1 million. Analysts, on average, expected the company to report a loss of 4 cents per share on revenue of $163.24 million.
GT Solar International, Inc. (NASDAQ:SOLR) fell 0.75% to $5.27 after it said that its fourth-quarter net income jumped to $33.27 million, or 23 cents per share, from $11.75 million, or 8 cents per share, in the year-earlier quarter. Revenue surged to $194.67 million from $138.54 million in the comparable quarter last year. Analysts, on average, expected the company to report earnings of 19 cents per share on revenue of $183.01 million. Gross profit increased to 37.5% of revenue from 28.5% in the same quarter of 2009.
