Death Penalty Being Sought for Six September 11 Suspects

United States prosecutors are said to be seeking the death penalty for six Guantanamo Bay detainees believed to be involved in the September 11, 2001 attacks in the United States that claimed nearly 3,000 lives.

Among those who will be facing the death penalty is alleged 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. It is believed that all six detainees will be facing murder, conspiracy to commit murder, attacking on civilians, and hijacking.

The decision to seek the death penalty against the men is expected to be announced on Monday.
