Weatherford International Ltd. (NYSE:WFT) slid 4.48% to $14.27. Weatherford International Ltd. is a provider of equipment and services used in the drilling, evaluation, completion, production and intervention of oil and natural gas wells.

Halliburton Company (NYSE:HAL) declines 3.76% to $26.10 on 7.94 million shares. The chief executive officer of Halliburton Co said on Wednesday that the company does not expect to incur costs related to its work on the Macondo well blowout in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.

Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. (NYSE:FCX) drops 5.26% to $64.13 on 9.95 million shares. 

Chesapeake Energy Corporation (NYSE:CHK) falls 3.76% to $21.27.
