IT Sourcing? First, You Need To Recruit The CFO!

Alsbridge, released an article today citing the importance of the CFO as an executive sponsor for your sourcing initiative for Information Technology.

“CFO’s look at the world through a different set of lenses”, said Vice President, Randy Vetter.  “They are like economists, in that they view people as corporate assets and resources that consume (especially in IT and back office functions), rather than add to corporate revenue”.

Why is the CFO’s view so important?  Alsbridge says, before you answer that question you have to put this into context around three typical sourcing alternatives:  Outsource – Third Party Service Provider, Shared Services – Captive…your company does it all, and Shared Services – Build, Operate & Transfer (BOT).
