Student in Critical Condition following School Shooting in Oxnard, California

The 15-year-old student shot inside an Oxnard, California junior high school remains in critical condition following and has not died as earlier reproted. CNN retracted a statement made earlier that the 15-year-old had died but later said that statement could not be confirmed.   

Shortly after 8:30 a.m. the 15-year-old was shot by another student inside the E.O. Green Junior High School and was quickly rushed to St. John’s Regional Medical Center but succumbed to his injuries.

The shooter reportedly fled the school after the incident but was apprehended by police.

All students have been sent home following a lock-down.
