Convicted Sex Offender David Snay Wins Lottery

A convicted sex offender won the Massachusetts state lottery but may face jail time as he never told authorities of his move from Connecticut to Massachusetts. Snay won $10 million on a Billion Dollar Blockbuster scratch ticket.

The 56-year-old has been convicted of sexual assault several times. Two of the assaults involved a child under 14. Snay is classified as a level 3 sex offender.

Snay lived in Connecticut until 2004 when he moved to Massachusetts. Authorities say he never informed them of his change of address, meaning he could face up to five years in prison if convicted. Connecticut police say he had not registered for their sex offenders list since 2004.

“We’re trying to determine when he moved, why he didn’t register with us and whether any charges are warranted,” said a spokesman. Snay’s lawyer said he did register in Massachusetts.
