Valentine’s Day “Storm Worm” May be Hidden in Electronic Greeting Cards

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has issued a warning to computer users that a potentially dangerous email may be circulating under the guise of a Valentine’s Day greeting card.

The “Storm Worm” encourages people to follow a link to retrieve a Valentine’s Day greeting but instead downloads viruses.

According to the FBI once that link is followed the computer becomes part of a “botnet” which can be used to facilitate crime.

Any unsolicited emails should be deleted and the FBI recommends computer users to avoid following links associated with those emails.
