Student Shot in Oxnard, California Junior High School Improving

The 15-year-old student shot yesterday inside the E.O. Green Junior High School in Oxnard, California is improving after first being admitted into the St. John’s Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

According to police reports, an eighth grader approached the victim during a first period class and shot him. The suspect then fled the school but was later apprehended by police.

While no motive has been established for the shooting police acknowledged that they had heard the boy had been bullied at the school for declaring he was gay.

Following the shooting the victim was rushed to the hospital in very critical condition. A report on CNN indicated that the boy had died from the injuries but after that report proved false they reported the boy’s condition as critical.
