Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre underwent surgery on his injured left ankle Friday morning, giving fans hope that the 40-year-old would return to the NFL for at least one more season.
Shortly after undergoing the surgery, carried out by Dr. James Andrews, Favre released a statement saying he had procedure “to remove some scar tissue and bone spurs from my ankle which had been bothering me for a period of time.”
It is believed Favre will need four to six weeks to rehab the ankle, enough time to put him on schedule for training camp. While Favre has not committed to playing in 2010 he has said that h would need surgery on the ankle of he were to play.
