The NBA playoffs schedule for Saturday has just one game on the slate but it will be the biggest game of the year for the Orlando Magic as they head to Boston to face a Celtics squad that has a dominant 2-0 advantage in their best-of-seven Eastern Conference Finals series.
A loss on Saturday will almost certainly end the season for Dwight Howard, Jameer Nelson and the rest of the Magic. Despite the 0-2 hole they now sit in Orlando has the talent to take a pair of games in Boston and regain home court. If that is to happen they’ll need to figure out how to handle Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo.
Figuring that out hasn’t been easy as the Celtics have been getting great team play from their group of veterans. Not only has Boston’s starting five outplayed Orlando, the bench has had an integral role in controlling Dwight Howard and keeping him off the boards.
Boston’s experience should play into their favor on Saturday as they know the dangers of being complacent and won’t just give a game away when they’re this close to another NBA Finals appearance.
