The master bedroom redesign consisted of utilizing all of the homeowners existing furniture, including some goodies found in other rooms of the house. The furniture was re-arranged, headboard was removed from the bed and replaced with a creative substitute. The mirror was taken off the dresser and a new one was hung directly on the wall. New bedding was brought in, store bought window treatments were customized and installed, artwork was redistributed and a few new accessories were strategically placed. “When Nancy saw her room I thought I was going to have to hold her up. She was shocked,” exclaims Henry.

Creating an inviting guest bedroom was also part of the project. The Simply Put Interiors team was creative and placed the bed caddie-corner with a table behind it, instead of bed-side. When this room was completed it was warm and welcoming as opposed to a catch all space.

Nancy had old furniture, dated bedding, no window treatments, a limited budget, and was ready to update her Master Bedroom. Having seen a decorating segment on WBAL-TV 11 featuring Paula Henry of Simply Put Interiors, she decided to call. “When Nancy called, she was tentative,” says Henry. “Understandably so, since bedrooms are such a personal space. Ultimately she gave me her budget and carte blanch to select everything, including her bedding.”

Henry continues, “After meeting Nancy and seeing her house, I felt confident I knew what she wanted to accomplish. She just couldn’t grasp the idea of going to work in the morning and coming home to a new bedroom.” Not only did she come home to a new master bedroom, she came home to a Redesigned guest bedroom as well. And yes, it was all Redesigned in a day.

It truly feels as if your work has centered my home...the guest bedroom is sweet and inviting and has one of my most precious things… I am amazed. My bedroom has gone from scattered and dated to fresh, warm, comfortable and ROOMY! I have room to walk, around the bed… the curtains are just fabulous and I really can't tell you how much I love the saying on the headboard. And thank you for having the guts to take off the old mirror and headboards -what was I thinking all this time having them on??? All of the finer touches that you brought today mean so much; the candles, the welcome friends, the little lamps add so much appeal. As much as I wanted my new kitchen I think I've wanted my bedrooms changed most of all. I know I couldn't have asked for a better designer-but more importantly, I don't think I could have found anyone who took the time and attention to detail to make my bedrooms a reflection of my better self. “
