Northern Illinois University Shooting, Early Reports Indicate 18 People Hit

A gunman opened fire on the Northern Illinois University campus, leaving at least 18 people injured. Early reports have the shooter still on the loose.

 

Several of those shot have been taken by ambulance to area hospitals. There have been no confirmed deaths in the shootings at this time.

 

In a note posted on the Northern Illinois University Web site the school stated “Its has been confirmed that there has been a shooting on campus and several people have been taken away by ambulance. All classses are cancelled on the DeKalb campus. People are urged not to come to campus.”
