School Shooting at Northern Illinois University Leaves 18 Shot

There was a campus shooting Northern Illinois University Thursday, while the assailant has yet to be apprehended. Early reports say that 18 people were shot.

The shooting at the Dekalb, IL campus happened around 3:20pm CST. Classes were cancelled 20 minutes later. Several students were taken away by ambulances.

The university instructed its students to go to their dorm room rapidly and to lock their doors, because the gunman could possibly still be on campus.

There have been no deaths reported, nor has the gunman or his weapon been identified.
